Unitree Robotics Unveils A2 Quadruped for Industrial-Grade Deployment

Unitree Robotics has introduced its most advanced quadruped to date – the Unitree A2 – designed as a rugged, high-performance platform for inspection, logistics, and research in challenging real-world environments.

Weighing 37 kg (81.6 lbs), the A2 supports a maximum standing load of 100 kg (220 lbs) and can walk while carrying up to 25 kg (55 lbs). On a single charge, it achieves 20 km (12.4 miles) of unloaded travel or 12.5 km (7.8 miles) fully loaded, with hot-swappable dual batteries enabling uninterrupted operation.

The A2 combines power, perception, and endurance, delivering speeds of 5 m/s (11.2 mph) and tackling obstacles such as 1-meter (3.3 ft) steps. Equipped with front and rear ultra-wide 3D LiDAR for 360° situational awareness, the robot also features a front-facing HD camera with integrated lighting to enable AI-powered vision and autonomous obstacle avoidance.

“Unitree continues to push boundaries in creating accessible and high-performance robotic platforms,” the company stated, highlighting the A2’s engineering for dynamic, industrial environments.

The A2 builds on the success of earlier models such as the Go1 and B2, strengthening Unitree’s position in the expanding field of practical robotics. A demonstration video shows the A2 navigating rough terrain, climbing steps, and carrying payloads with ease.
