IPG Automotive adds sixth German subsidiary

Software company IPG Automotive has opened a subsidiary in Ingolstadt, enabling it to be closer to its German customers and bringing its number of German sites to six. Martin Laupitz, an experienced project manager, will be heading the new team in Ingolstadt.

The site will provide a location for virtual test driving and is set to begin operations in April, complementing the existing German subsidiaries in Karlsruhe, Braunschweig, Frankfurt, Munich and Stuttgart.

Laupitz said, “We can no longer test the entire range of vehicle-integrated functions only on the proving ground or the road – they are just too complex. That is why we are looking to transfer the OEMs’ requirements to to a simulation environment.”
