Ford Unveils 795-HP Mustang Dark Horse SC Convertible

Ford has revealed the 2027 Mustang Dark Horse SC Convertible, bringing the brand’s supercharged high-performance V8 power to an open-top Mustang for the first time in more than a decade.

Powered by a supercharged 5.2-litre V8, the Dark Horse SC Convertible produces 795 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque, with power sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Unlike the fixed-roof Dark Horse SC, the convertible has been developed primarily as a road-focused grand tourer. Its MagneRide suspension receives a less aggressive tune, while Ford will not offer the convertible with the coupe’s track-focused package featuring carbon-fibre wheels, high-performance tyres and carbon-ceramic brakes.

The convertible retains the aggressive Dark Horse SC design, including widened wheel arches, large air intakes, performance-focused bodywork and a prominent rear wing.

Ford has also introduced Precision Purple, a colour inspired by the colour-shifting finishes used on iconic high-performance Mustangs.

Orders are expected to open in autumn 2026, with deliveries scheduled to begin in spring 2027. Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but the convertible is expected to cost around $110,000.
