Xos Secures US$3 Million Mobile Charging Order from Expanding Autonomous Fleet Operator

Xos, Inc. has secured a follow-on order valued at approximately US$3 million for 12 of its Xos Hub mobile energy storage and charging units from an autonomous fleet operator that is rapidly expanding its operations across North America and Europe.

The latest order highlights growing demand for flexible charging infrastructure as fleet operators accelerate electrification efforts while facing ongoing grid capacity challenges. Designed to provide DC fast charging without the need for permanent grid upgrades, the Xos Hub can be deployed within days, offering a practical solution for fleets requiring immediate access to charging infrastructure.

The agreement follows Xos’s first deliveries of Hub units into Europe earlier in 2026, marking the company’s first deployment across two continents and reinforcing its position in the rapidly growing mobile energy storage market.

As electric vehicle adoption continues to increase, fleet operators are increasingly seeking alternatives to lengthy utility upgrade projects that can delay expansion plans. Mobile energy storage solutions are emerging as a key enabler of fleet electrification by providing scalable charging capacity where and when it is needed most.

According to industry forecasts, the global mobile energy storage market is expected to grow from US$58 billion in 2025 to US$156 billion by 2032, driven by rising demand for electric fleets, grid limitations, and the need for flexible energy solutions.

Commenting on the agreement, Xos Chief Executive Officer Dakota Semler said the order demonstrates the value of providing reliable charging infrastructure that can keep pace with rapidly expanding fleet operations.

He noted that autonomous and electric fleets are growing faster than traditional grid infrastructure can support, creating a significant opportunity for mobile charging technologies that can be deployed quickly and efficiently.

The order also reflects increasing confidence in mobile energy storage systems as a strategic solution for fleet operators looking to scale operations across multiple regions without waiting for permanent electrical infrastructure upgrades.

As autonomous mobility and fleet electrification continue to gain momentum globally, demand for agile charging solutions such as the Xos Hub is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting the next phase of transportation and logistics transformation.
