Delta Electronics, a global leader in power and automation solutions, has broken ground on its new development center in Emmendingen, near Freiburg, Germany. The facility underscores Delta’s long-term commitment to innovation, sustainability, and regional growth in Europe.
Scheduled for completion in early 2027, the three-story, 7,480-square-meter building will accommodate over 200 employees across R&D, engineering, business development, and management. The site will drive product innovation, foster collaboration, and support Delta’s expansion in both local and international markets.
Integrating Delta’s smart, energy-efficient technologies, the new building aims to achieve DGNB Gold Certification for sustainable construction — a benchmark of excellence in energy performance and environmental quality in Germany.
“Our new regional site in Emmendingen is a strong signal of Delta’s long-term commitment to Germany and the EMEA region,” said Andreas Kostrzewa, Managing Director, Delta Energy Systems. “This region’s focus on sustainability and innovation makes it the ideal foundation for our next chapter of growth.”
Stefan Schlatterer, Mayor of Emmendingen, added: “We are pleased to welcome Delta to our city. Their commitment to smart infrastructure and sustainability reflects our shared vision of a cleaner, more efficient future.”
Developed in partnership with Goldbeck, the facility will feature bright office spaces, laboratories, a technology showroom, meeting rooms, and creative areas — all designed for innovation and employee well-being. A radiant heating and cooling system, Delta EV chargers, and solar panels generating 270,000 kWh annually will further enhance energy efficiency and comfort.
Once operational, the site will host Delta’s Industrial and Medical Business Unit, advancing power supply technologies for medical equipment and charging solutions for automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and electric forklifts.
The new Emmendingen development center will serve as a hub for innovation, sustainability, and smart manufacturing, reinforcing Delta’s mission to power a smarter, greener future.
