Aurora, a developer of self-driving trucks, has formed a strategic partnership with McLeod Software, a leading provider of transportation management solutions, to develop the industry’s first Transportation Management System (TMS) designed for autonomous trucks.
The partnership aims to deliver a seamless user experience for carriers using Aurora’s self-driving technology, helping accelerate industry adoption of autonomous freight operations.
Self-driving trucks are built to move goods safely, efficiently, and continuously, allowing carriers to boost asset utilization and revenue. To be effective, the technology must integrate effortlessly into existing transportation management workflows without adding operational complexity.
Through an API integration, McLeod’s customers will be able to easily tender loads and gain real-time visibility into autonomous operations using Aurora’s system. The collaboration will enable users to manage key processes such as load tendering, dispatch, billing, and shipment tracking directly within McLeod’s platform.
Aurora President Ossa Fisher said the partnership is a major step toward offering a premium, customer-focused solution, noting that “meeting customers within their existing TMS makes it simple to access the safety and efficiency benefits of autonomous trucks.”
McLeod Software founder and CEO Tom McLeod added that integrating Aurora’s technology gives carriers a clear pathway to adopt autonomous tractors and enhance operational efficiency.
Beta testing of the integrated platform is in progress, with broader deployment planned once customer trials are complete.
