Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada to Deploy Agility Robotics’ Humanoid Robot Digit.

Agility Robotics, developer of the general-purpose humanoid robot Digit, has signed a commercial agreement with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) following a successful pilot programme.

Under the agreement, TMMC plans to deploy Digit across its facilities to support manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics operations. The move is aimed at improving operational efficiency while enhancing the experience of team members on the production floor.

TMMC evaluated several robotic solutions before selecting Digit. The companies will continue exploring additional use cases where robotics and AI can assist in automotive production, particularly by automating repetitive and physically demanding tasks. The goal is to reduce employee strain, improve safety, and allow workers to focus on higher-value responsibilities.

TMMC joins other major global companies adopting Digit, including Amazon, GXO Logistics, and Schaeffler.

Agility Robotics’ portfolio includes Digit and Agility Arc, a cloud automation platform for managing fleets of robots. Designed for seamless integration without costly facility retrofits, Digit can perform monotonous, hard-to-fill roles and continuously adapt to new workflows using AI-powered learning capabilities.
