The IEC 62443-4-2 standard is a crucial part of the ISA/IEC 62443 series, which focuses on safeguarding industrial automation and control systems from cyber threats. By earning this certification, Rockwell Automation has demonstrated the exceptional robustness of its drive families against cyberattacks, emphasizing their commitment to protecting industrial systems from unauthorized access.
The certification process involved a thorough evaluation of the drives’ design and development lifecycle, ensuring that cybersecurity principles were incorporated from inception to deployment. This comprehensive approach to security includes threat modeling, secure coding practices, and intensive security-focused testing to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
