Mitsubishi Motors to Launch All-New Eclipse Cross BEV in Europe by 2025

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has announced that its European subsidiary, Mitsubishi Motors Europe B.V., will begin the sequential launch of the all-new Eclipse Cross battery electric vehicle (BEV) before the end of 2025. The model will be manufactured at Renault’s ElectriCity Douai Plant, the Renault Group’s EV production hub.

The all-new Eclipse Cross, built on the CMF-EV platform and designed exclusively as a BEV, will feature Mitsubishi’s signature Dynamic Shield front design, an electric powertrain offering approximately 600 kilometers of range (WLTP), and the latest Google built-in functions alongside advanced safety technologies. Supplied under an OEM agreement with Alliance partner Renault, the model follows the ASX, Colt, and Grandis, further strengthening Mitsubishi’s electrification roadmap in Europe.

Takao Kato, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors, emphasized the significance of the launch, stating that rolling out the all-new Eclipse Cross marks a crucial step in the company’s European electrification strategy. He added that, having pioneered the world’s first mass-produced BEV, Mitsubishi Motors is committed to providing environmentally friendly vehicles, achieving carbon neutrality, and meeting the diverse needs of European customers through an expanded lineup of electrified vehicles.

The Eclipse Cross embodies a “Smart Armor” design concept that combines robustness and sophistication, with a three-dimensional honeycomb grille, J-shaped LED running lights, bold 20-inch alloy wheels, and a powerful rear stance built around the brand’s Hexagonal Stability identity. Inside, the cabin adopts a sporty yet modern theme with satin silver accents, diamond-stitched seats, customizable ambient lighting in 48 colors, and a panoramic glass roof with electrochromic shading modes, creating an expansive and premium atmosphere.

Equipped with an 87 kWh drive battery, the vehicle delivers an estimated 600 kilometers of driving range per charge, with a maximum output of 160 kW and peak torque of 300 Nm, ensuring powerful yet smooth performance. The driving experience is enhanced by selectable regenerative braking levels, one-pedal functionality, and charging options of up to 22 kW for AC and 150 kW for DC fast charging. A medium-range variant is also planned for 2026, targeting everyday usability.

In terms of connectivity, the Eclipse Cross integrates a 12.3-inch vertical display with Google built-in, seamless compatibility with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, and remote vehicle access through the Mitsubishi Motors mobile app. Drivers benefit from over-the-air software updates and four selectable driving modes—Personal, Eco, Comfort, and Sport—that adapt to road conditions and personal preferences.

Safety remains central, with the new Eclipse Cross offering up to 20 advanced driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and the MI-PILOT highway assistance system. These technologies ensure security and confidence whether navigating city streets or long-distance journeys.

The launch of the all-new Eclipse Cross BEV marks a decisive step in Mitsubishi Motors’ long-term strategy to accelerate electrification in Europe while supporting a sustainable and decarbonized future.
