INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS IN JERRY CANS

As specialists in Metal Jerry Cans and Plastic Fuel and Water Cans, Pro Quip International says its latest offerings embody its commitment to quality, innovation, safety, and sustainability.
Amongst the latest products it has presented to the market are the Proper 2L Fuel Can, and the ‘Screw U’ Metal Jerry Can Range.

The Proper 2L Fuel Can
Pro Quip explains the development of the Proper 2L Fuel Can was motivated by a clear objective: to create a compact, strong, and convenient fuel transport and storage solution that adheres to the highest standards of safety and durability.
Recognising a gap in the market for a high-quality, small-capacity Fuel Can, Pro Quip’s goal was to design a product that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of customers in terms of reliability, safety, and ease of use.
Pro Quip states the Proper 2L Fuel Can is a testament to advanced engineering and design excellence, featuring a steel body with a passivated aluminium screw cap, ensuring an “unmatched” level of durability and security.
Further, the Can’s highly durable external powder coating in matt green and fuel-resistant internal coating are said to guarantee longevity and safe fuel transport and storage, while its compact dimensions and lightweight design, coupled with the LDPE strap, make it exceedingly convenient for a variety of uses.
It is the only civil Fuel Can that meets military standards, highlighting its superior quality and reliability; and reportedly undergoes continuous, rigorous testing with random post-production samples removed for internal pressure tests up to 2.5 bar and drop tests from 1.8m height, ensuring its resilience and safety.

Moreover, the Can incorporates a patented design and a unique and durable coating, which Pro Quip says sets it apart from competitors. The seal of the cap, made of fuel-resistant NBR rubber, and the availability of a shut-off pourer (sold separately), enhances its usability and safety, making refuelling tasks simpler and more secure.
As the only Steel Jerry Can of its size to be AS2906:2001 Certified and have UN Approval for packing groups I, II, and III, Pro Quip says the Proper 2L Fuel Can meets the highest standards achievable for this type of product.
Further, it states the construction with 0.6mm DC04 steel and a cap made of the highest-grade aluminium reflects the company’s commitment to producing products that offer superior performance and safety features.
With the Proper 2L Fuel Can, Pro Quip explains it utilises the recognisable design, shape and materials of its larger offerings (5L, 10L and 20L) to provide customers with a means to transport and store Dangerous Goods in the safest way possible.
It says that unlike small fuel ‘bladders’ or other Plastic Cans available in this size, this style instils confidence in the user, backed by the testing certifications and approvals.
In summary, Pro Quip says the Proper 2L Fuel Can represents a leap forward in fuel transport and storage solutions, marrying innovation with functionality in a compact and durable package.

he ‘Screw U’ Metal Jerry Can Range
Pro Quip says its Screw U Metal Jerry Can Range represents its latest venture into redefining the standards of fuel transport and storage efficiency, safety, and convenience.
In launching this new range, Pro Quip sought to replace its ‘Super Can’ (with Australian Made, OEM modified Fuel Filler Cap) following the demise of its Australian Cap manufacturer for the Super Can in 2021, whilst continuing to address the pressing need for a more reliable, durable, easy-to-open and user-friendly Metal Jerry Can.
It says the new range has been meticulously engineered to “exceed military specifications and to provide an unmatched level of durability and ease of use,” with the new design retaining “the highest standards of safety and quality, boasting AS2906:2001 Certification, UN Approval for the transport of dangerous goods, and BAM certification.”
The new product features an externally threaded, larger diameter neck (46mm) which utilises the same characteristics found on a re-fillable, pressurised, screw-top fire extinguisher.
This is complemented by an anodized aluminium cap with convenient grip that is easy to open and close and includes a “groundbreaking” magnet embedded in the cap to prevent its loss and allow for its attachment to metal surfaces (including the can itself) for convenience.
Pro Quip says the integration of the magnet within the cap, coupled with an ergonomic grip, solves the common issue of cap loss and facilitates ease of use.

Further, it says the robust thread design minimises the risk of damage and maximises the positive thread engagement ensuring longevity whilst allowing the user the ability to torque the cap as much or as little as they desire to feel like the can is safely closed.
As with Pro Quip’s bayonet-style Metal Jerry Cans, a wide breather channel is incorporated into the neck of the 10L and 20L Cans providing enhanced dispensing speed.
With a neck diameter of 46mm, Pro Quip says these cans dispense fuel “nearly four times faster than traditional screw cap metal cans, as validated against competitors in controlled tests.”
Pro Quip says this efficiency is achieved without compromising on safety or spillage risk and is achievable both with or without the flexible pourer designed for this product.
Furthermore, all Cans in the Screw U range share the same superior construction with the 0.9 mm metal body, a high durability external powder coating and fuel-resistant internal coating, which Pro Quip says makes the entire range of Metal Jerry Cans virtually impervious to dirt, mechanical damage, and harsh environmental conditions.
In conclusion, Pro Quip says its Screw U Metal Jerry Can Range stands as a testament to its commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction.
By addressing the critical needs of safety, durability, and convenience, it says it has set a new standard in the fuel transport and storage category.
