Australia Post is gearing up for the holiday season by recruiting around 3,000 seasonal casuals.
As it ramps up operations in the lead up to Christmas, Australia Post’s seasonal recruitment drive is focused on finding people with specific skills and experience to help meet the surge in demand.
Australia Post is calling for forklift operators, van and truck drivers as well as freight handlers and parcel sorters to fill roles across the delivery network.
Roles are available in all states and territories, with the highest demand in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
Each role will be critical in delivering for customers during the very busy cyber sales period and lead up to Christmas.
Australia Post Executive General Manager, People and Culture, Sue Davies, highlighted the critical role that seasonal casuals play in helping Australia Post ensure deliveries reach customers in time for the holiday period.
“As we approach our busiest time of year, we’re looking to bolster our workforce to ensure we can meet increased demand and maintain the high level of service Australians expect from Australia Post,” she said in a statement.
Last year, Australia Post delivered almost 100 million parcels in the lead up to Christmas.
That was, in large part, thanks to the help of our seasonal casuals who worked alongside the company’s existing team members said Davies.
“We’d love to hear from people who have a valid forklift or truck license, as well as people looking to work in parcel processing, deliveries and freight handling,” said Davies.
“Joining our team not only provides the opportunity to be a part of a supportive and dynamic environment but also allows you to earn extra money and to spread the merry this Christmas.
“Working in a seasonal casual role can also create opportunities to work with Australia Post beyond the end of the year. We have many team members who started as a seasonal casual and are still part of our team many years later.”
